Freshman Democrat congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez took to the floor of Congress to address comments made to her by fellow congressman, RepublicanTed Yoho of Florida.
Last month, Yoho reportedly approached AOC on the House steps to pointedly share his thoughts regarding her position on defunding the police, poverty, crime, etc.
According to a report in The Hill...
In a brief but heated exchange, which was overheard by a reporter, Yoho told Ocasio-Cortez she was "disgusting" for recently suggesting that poverty and unemployment are driving a spike in crime in New York City during the coronavirus pandemic.
"You are out of your freaking mind," Yoho told her.
Ocasio-Cortez shot back, telling Yoho he was being "rude."
Yoho has since apologized for his comments.
