A&G Listeners Donate $800,000+ to Warrior Foundation Freedom Station

Once again, the Friends of Armstrong & Getty proved that they are a force to be reckoned with. So far, A&G listeners have donated more than $800,000 for Warrior Foundation Freedom Station.

Thank you for helping us blow-past this year's goal of raising $500,000 during The 2022 Armstrong & Getty Radiothon!

For the ninth consecutive year, Jack Armstrong & Joe Getty hosted the live, on-air fundraiser benefiting Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, with the goal of providing funds to help reunite injured military service members with their families for the holidays. The organization also supports warriors by providing transitional housing used during both recovery and transition processes. Since 2013, “The Armstrong & Getty Show” has helped raise more than $7 million for Warrior Foundation Freedom Station.

“Warrior Foundation Freedom Station (WFFS) is an amazing and efficient organization,” said Joe Getty. “We like to focus on the positive. But the truth is, there are so many sad and heartbreaking stories involving injured service members who’ve fallen into despair, loneliness, drug addiction or homelessness. Over the years, WFFS has managed to help so many service members avoid those outcomes by bringing the military brotherhood and sisterhood back into their lives and bringing back that feeling of excitement for their future. WFFS is changing lives every single day.”

“We really believe it’s important to take the success of the radio show and do something positive--and we really believe in this charity,” said Jack Armstrong.“ It's our patriotic duty to provide our time and help spread the word about this incredible cause. We remain grateful that our faithful Armstrong & Getty listeners have continued to support us by once again donating so generously to Warrior Foundation Freedom Station.”

For injured warriors who face the challenges of recovery, rehabilitation and the transition to civilian life, there is no greater gift than to return home to their families for this special time of year.

Thanks to the generosity and compassion of donors like you, thousands of ill and injured service members have left the hospital and flown home for Christmas for the last 16 years. While it seems like a simple gesture, a trip home has a priceless impact on a warrior’s morale and recovery, and the military families who love them. At its heart, sending our heroes home for the holidays is a gesture of gratitude for the men and women who have served, sacrificed, and are now learning how to adapt and overcome both visible and invisible injuries.

In addition to flights home for the holidays, Warrior Foundation Freedom Station assists injured warriors year-round with a variety of programs, including adaptive sports, outdoor therapy, wheelchairs for warriors, vocational projects, education scholarships, career guidance, work wardrobes. and more. We also provide a "home of the brave" via our two transitional housing residences, Freedom Station I and II, which provide injured warriors with the time, guidance and resources to successfully make the transition from military service to civilian life.
