The Pentagon has dismissed claims by Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey that mysterious drones spotted over the state originate from an Iranian "mothership" off the U.S. East Coast. Van Drew, citing unnamed high-level sources, suggested the drones were launched from this mothership, but the Pentagon firmly denied these allegations.

During a press briefing, Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh stated, "There is no Iranian ship off the coast of the United States, and there's no so-called 'mothership' launching drones toward the United States." Singh also emphasized that there is no evidence linking the drones to any foreign adversary.

Van Drew's claims have sparked concern among officials and residents in New Jersey, where the drones have been seen flying over multiple counties. The congressman suggested that the drones could be a threat and should be shot down. He also speculated that Iran might have acquired drone technology through a deal with China.

Despite the Pentagon's denial, the mystery surrounding the drones remains unresolved. The FBI is investigating the sightings, urging the public to report any drone activity. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has assured residents that there is no known threat to the public at this time.
